Holidays in Aruba

This beautiful little island is just off the Venezuelan coast. You will find a large tourism business but there are still plenty of undeveloped areas and it is blessed with the most beautiful beaches. Friendly locations are willing to welcome you to their island and the paradise beaches and landscapes will make you want to stay longer.

Sights and places to see on Holidays in Aruba

Under the crystal clear waters, the corals are amazing and of course there is the tropical fish, perfect for diving or snorkelling. There are plenty of dry activities to enjoy also such as tennis, golf and horse riding.

The waters around Aruba are also ideal for swimming but if you choose to get away from the beaches you can go on a safari to see more of the islands natural charm.

Flight, travel and weather information in and around Aruba

Most flights from the UK arrive via America and there are many connections to choose from and there is an airport departure tax to keep in mind when you leave. The amount differs depending on your onward destination but is usually between US$33-US$36.

There is one international airport situated approx. 4 miles from the capital Oranjestad. There are plenty of taxis to travel around and you can also hire a car to really explore the island. There is also a good bus service between some of the more popular locations.

As with the all the Caribbean islands, Aruba’s peak season runs from mid-December to mid-April although it enjoys warm and fairly dry weather all year round.

Aruba is 4 hours behind England (GMT – 4) the local currency is Aruban Guilder (AWG) and the country dialling code is (00 or +) 297
