Holidays in Barbados’s Southwest Coast. You can walk for miles and miles along seemingly never-ending white sand beaches stumbling upon, on occasion, coral rocks jutting out to the beautiful crystal sea. Barbados’s southwest coast is home to the islands capital Bridgetown, a favourite for its historical buildings and shopping. The coastline here is a mix of the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean’s and the seas are a little livelier than the west coast but calmer than the east or north coasts.

Holidays in Christ Church, Silver Sands and Maxwell attract windsurfers from around the world and the Barbados Windsurfing World Cup is held annually at Silver Sands. The main fishing port of Oistins hosts the waterfront market, and the nearby square is the venue for the elderly locals dancing the old time two step. The livelier area of St Lawrence Gap has water sports aplenty whilst at night the strip comes alive with restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
Holidays in St. Michael, Bridgetown is the bustling capital (and only city) of Barbados, with the main Duty Free Shopping areas on Broad Street. However, a short walk will take you to the beautiful beach of Carlisle Bay. Home to several boat wrecks, this is one of the best places to dive and snorkel.
