The Caymans Islands are three small islands in the Western Caribbean, Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. The scuba diving in the Cayman Islands is reckoned to be some of the finest the whole of the Caribbean.

Grand Cayman is the largest and most visited of the islands and is also the world’s fith-largest financial centre. Little Cayman and Cayman Brac are much quieter and accessed mainly via Grand Cayman.

The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory and are self-governed but still under the direct protection of the United Kingdom. The Queen of England is depicted on Cayman Islands currency and postal stamps. The local language is English, although there are many other languages spoken by its’ inhabitants.

You will never be short of things to do in The Cayman Islands. There is world-class scuba diving, snorkelling, and sailing for the water sport enthusiasts, the islands are also rich in history.

Weather, flight and travel information in and around the Cayman Islands

December to April are the best time to visit as the temperature averages a pleasant 75°F (23.9°C) and humidity is at its lowest. July and August usually being uncomfortably hot are considered the ‘off-season’, temperatures are known to average 83°F (28.3°C). Rainfall is highest from mid-May through to October, with frequent afternoon showers that clear as quickly as they arrive.

The main airport Owen Roberts International Airport is located on Grand Cayman east of George Town. There are also smaller airports in Cayman Brac, Gerrard Smith International Airport and Little Cayman is Edward Bodden Airfield.
