Overview
Welcome to Michalmas, a 1 bed, 200 year old fisherman’s cottage in the heart of Meads. An ideal base for walkers, birdwatchers, beachcombers, nature lovers & sun worshipers, with a tiny front garden and a small courtyard to the rear.
Meads was developed in the late Victorian and early Edwardian periods and is a very attractive part of Eastbourne. The sea is only 200yds away, where there is the shore at Holywell and extensive promenades. Walk west along the shore at low tide and there are many rock pools.
At high tide, as much as 20 - 30 yards of beach is left revealed before the chalk cliffs, depending on how calm or rough the sea is. Walk east along the promenades passing lovely buildings, large hotels and beautiful flowerbeds towards the Bandstand, the Pier and the famous Carpet Gardens. Further afield, Brighton lies 25 miles to the west and Hastings 20 miles to the east.
Eastbourne and the surrounding area have many restaurants, cafes and pubs with food outlets. Many of the hotels also have restaurants open to non-residents.
