Rain rain go away, it's Glastonbury 2009.
Festival fans from across the globe will be descending on the village of Pilton in Somerset next week, for Glastonbury 2009.
Britain's most famous summer music occasion, gates open at 8 am on Wednesday June 24 at Worthy Farm. The music won't stop until Sunday June 28.
This year's huge line-up features Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Neil Young, Blur, Franz Ferdinand, Lily Allen, The Prodigy, Bloc Party, Doves, Calvin Harris, Black Eyed Peas, The Ting Tings and Georgie Fame among hundreds of others.
More than just a place to see your favourite bands, Glastonbury is a temporary town with diverse areas including the Dance Village, Pilton Palais Cinema Tent, Kidz Field, Trash City, the Green Fields and Theatre & Circus fields.
Ryanair announce cuts.
Ryanair has today announced cuts to its winter based aircraft, flights and jobs at at Dublin and Shannon airports, blaming the effect of the Irish Government's €10 tourist tax.Figures from the airline indicate that traffic at Dublin Airport has shown a 11% decrease in the first five months of 2009, a figure amounting to a loss of one million passengers.
As a result, the airline has announced a 25% reduction in Shannon-based aircraft; a six percent cut in Dublin-based aircraft; a cut of 36 flights per week at Shannon; a cut of 44 flights per week at Dublin; the loss of 650 airport and tourism jobs; and the loss of €750 million in tourism spend.
Airport spa opens at Heathrow
Travellers flying from Heathrow's Terminal 5 can escape from the last-minute stresses and strains before flying by visiting the newly-opened Be Relax spa.
Tailored to meet the needs and requirements of travellers, the spa offers a range of treatments, from quick-fix lifts to extended sessions of 'me time', such as massage, manicures and oxygen therapy.
The launch of Be Relax at Heathrow marks the French firm's plans to establish itself in the UK. An expert in beauty and relaxation services at the airport, it currently has operations in 10 European airports.
