The service, run by Orbis Air Link, will run every two hours 24 hours a day from the London Underground stations at Hammersmith, Acton and Ealing Broadway direct to Stansted. This gives passengers on the Piccaddilly, District, Central and Hammersmith & City lines a convenient link to the airport.
Glasgow named in top 10 cities in world
The once grey and grimy city of Glasgow has been named as one of the top 10 cities in the world by influential travel guide Lonely Planet.
Glasgow is the only UK destination among the top 10 cities, which in no particular order comprise Antwerp, Beirut, Chicago, Lisbon, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Warsaw and Zurich.
The formally decidedly unfashionable city of Glasgow has been chosen because of its exciting, contemporary image says Lonely Planet. “Forget about castles, kilts, bagpipes and tartan – you come to Glasgow for the cocktails, cuisine and designer chic (plus the legendary native wit),” states the new Lonely Planet book, Best in Travel 2009.

The extra flights have been made possible due to a recent agreement between the UK and Saudi Arabian governments.
Virgin Atlantic cuts fuel surcharges
Long haul airline Virgin Atlantic is reducing the passenger fuel surcharges on its flights from midnight tonight (15/10/2008).
The airline says the reduction is due to the “sustained decrease in the price of crude oil”. Fuel surcharges are being cut by up to £13 per flight depending on the destination and cabin class.
Passengers flying economy class with Virgin Atlantic will pay £10 less on shorter flights and £13 less on longer flights. Premium economy passengers will pay £5 less on shorter sectors and £6.50 less on longer sectors.
The reduction in fuel surcharges means on shorter flights economy passengers will pay £68, premium economy passengers £83 and Upper Class passengers £98.
On longer flights economy passengers will pay £96 in fuel surcharges, premium economy passengers will pay £114.50 and Upper Class passengers £133.
Virgin Atlantic says the longer sectors include flights from London to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Beijing, Tokyo, Shanghai, Sydney, Mauritius, Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Hong Kong.
