- The results of the Telegraph Travel Awards are in, and show that New Zealand is Britons' favourite international destination.
- New Zealand is British travellers' favourite worldwide destination, according to the 2007 Telegraph Travel Awards.
- Britons' fondness for all things Antipodean was emphasised by Telegraph readers this year, who voted Australia their third favourite international location, while Indian Ocean nation the Maldives took second spot.
- Recent growth in the travel industry appears to have fostered a sense of adventurousness in UK holidaymakers, with none of the Telegraph readers' three favourite foreign cities - Sydney, Cape Town and Vancouver - in Europe.

- Polish airline Wizz Air has confirmed a new service to link Warsaw to Sheffield.
- Wizz Air has announced that it is to launch new flights from Warsaw to Doncaster Sheffield airport next year.
- The new services will commence on April 1st and initially be operated three times a week.
- Warsaw will be Wizz Air's fifth Polish route from Doncaster Sheffield, alongside Katowice, Gdansk, Poznan and Wroclaw.

- Edinburgh airport will need 1500 new hotel rooms by 2013 says a new report being submitted to planners on Thursday.
- In its Master Plan published in July 2006 Edinburgh airport owners BAA predicted that passenger numbers could reach almost 14 million by 2013, and as many as 26 million by 2030. The new hotels at Edinburgh airport will be needed to cater for the growing number of passengers using the airport.

The number of people taking cruise holidays from the UK is set to grow by more than 60% from 1.35 million this year to more than two million by 2012.
